At Earth & Rose we are on a mission to become a sustainable salon and be carbon neutral!
As a business we pay around £3 per client appointment to be able to sustainably recycle all of the waste generated from each appointment
How are we becoming more sustainable?
Did you know that according to a study at Southampton University, 99% of salon foil ends up in landfill? Despite aluminium being an infinitely recyclable material. We have partnered up with Green Salon Collective and now 100% of our foil will be recycled. They can even raise money from this process and these profits go towards charities and good causes across the UK & Ireland.
OUR SUSTAINABILITY MISSON
Plenty of other ‘landfill materials’ are now being recycled too. Your hair can even be recycled! Green Salon Collective are working on hair boom and mat projects that could see your hair soaking up an oil spill, and they will also be using it for gardening and composting too.
What else gets recycled?
Excess chemicals, plastics, gloves, face masks, couch roll, colour tubes, beauty treatment packets/packaging and paper. We even personally compost all tea bags and any food waste.
We even look at who provides us with business services and products!
We are constantly reflecting on who we work with in order to improve our sustainability - from the companies who provide us with beauty and hair products to those who provide us with our card machine and broadband.
Our electricity provider uses 76% renewable resources and are constantly looking at ways to improve this.
